These two people are still in high school and they dream, produce, compose, and successfully create photo shoots all over San Diego. I can’t  even imagine where they are going to be in 5 years, but I hope they send me a postcard and tickets to their future art shows!! I met them while they were shooting in an alley behind my house…props and all=)

Two of my talented friends had a daughter three years ago. She is a very particular libra who reminds me to appreciate little things like a nicely lined up row of crayons.  She is one of my very favorite people.  Happy 3rd birthday again little lady…Good baby making Boun+Adam!=) Oh…and Boun designed this adorable invitation…hire her!!

Gun Runner needed some new photos for a few exciting things coming up. So, I brought my holga, some lenses, and a beautiful second shooter {Boun Loun} to capture these good looking magical musicians. Their next show is at Soda Bar on November 15th, and at the Casbah November 18th.

Sean Davenport – Vocals, keys, guitar | Tommy Graf - Vocals, keys, guitar, drums | Diego Rojano -Vocals. bass guitar

Love this shot of Boun’s! Biz owners are always on the phone=)=)

Action shot by Boun… as well as the next two below it. She was made for a 1.4 lens.

Hear Gun Runner’s Music.

I shot some photos and video at the first of many monthly Music Overload Beatdown events, presented by Overload Skateshop. It was at the World Beat Center in Balboa Park, and had live art by street artists, lots of music, and some great random pieces of art. The last shot was after the event walking through the urban farm at City College…one of my favorite places in San Diego by far!

A few of my photos on wood are up in a show downtown at the Lyceum Theater at the bottom of Horton Plaza, and it opens tonight at 7pm. Here are some artists that also have stuff up. Come see the digital media, fine art, paintings, photos (Amanda Dalgren!) and lots of delish typography. Also, I have been told that there will be lots of cookies.

There has been a lot of really beautiful progress on the mural in South Park, and it looks like it will be finished late tonight or tomorrow sometime. It is SO amazing to watch this artist and his team work. It’s just so challenging for my brain to wrap around a workspace that large in size…it makes me a little dizzy just thinking about it.

Here are two photos of Shepard and one of his sweet daughters. She was such an articulate little lady who obviously loves her Dad quite a bit. She told me all about her two smallish dogs while petting Oscar{my long-haired chihuahua} and kept reminding her Dad to wear his hat in the sun. Kids are the best.

Shepard Fairey is one of the most amazing street artists of all time.{recognize this?} {or this} {this too?} He is also a ridiculously talented graphic designer and illustrator, and I am truly inspired by his bold use of typography and color. I have had my eye on his new book {Obey: supply & demand: the art of Shepard Fairey} and I was so excited to find out he was in San Diego {thank you Museum of Contemporary Art} painting huge walls for our enjoyment. I got to watch a small piece of this huge two day project in South Park{J.Walcher Communications} get created, and it was amazing. I am editing some of the video right now too! What a day=) Check back for the rest of the photos, I am heading back over there in the morning!

We got to photograph a very energetic and talented band, The Crashing Marbles a while back and I didn’t post any images from the shoot-so here they are!  *Clients/friends/stalkers: I’ll be back from New York on July 4th, so if we are in the midst of scheduling an appointment or setting up a time to pick up your photos, expect an email next week.  Have a good holiday weekend!
